Anthropic Generates $16.8B in Q3 Revenue Ahead of Expected November IPO

Artificial intelligence company Anthropic reported $16.8 billion in third-quarter revenue as the firm prepares for an initial public offering expected in November. The maker of the Claude chatbot, led by Chief Executive Officer Dario Amodei, achieved a 45% sequential revenue increase for the period. The business was cash-flow positive during the quarter, generating $1.70 in revenue for every dollar spent on computing infrastructure, while reporting an adjusted gross margin of 85%.

Despite concerns among some investors regarding sequential growth trends, market analysts at Wedbush Securities emphasized that the figures do not signal a downturn in artificial intelligence spending. Analyst Matt Bryson pointed out that hardware demand remains elevated, with rental rates for graphics processing units continuing to climb across both new and older systems. Anthropic maintained steady momentum even as competition increased from rival platforms such as CoPilot and Muse.

Investors now project Anthropic to reach $110 billion in annualized revenue by the end of the year. As the company prepares for its potential public market entrance, where it could seek to raise more than $100 billion, market participants will closely monitor hardware suppliers and cloud partners, including NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA), Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD), Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN), CoreWeave, Inc. Class A (NASDAQ:CRWV), and Broadcom Inc. (NASDAQ:AVGO).
